#Masjidullah – Philadelphia, PA. A Black American Muslim community sends folks off to Hajj, the holy pilgrimage to Mecca 🕋
Incredibly powerful. Beautiful.
This is the epitome of #BlackMuslimMosaic. May Allah be pleased with these Believers and accept their sincere dua. pic.twitter.com/7e3Zmjfy35— Dr Kameelah Mu’Min Oseguera (@DrMamaKam) August 3, 2019
Translation:
O my Lord, here I am at Your service, here I am.
There is no partner with You,
here I am.
Truly the praise
and the provisions are Yours,
and so is the dominion and sovereignty.
You have no partner.#BlackMuslimMosaic— Dr Kameelah Mu’Min Oseguera (@DrMamaKam) August 3, 2019
True indeed! ❤️✊🏾#BlackMuslimMosaic

What I find fascinating about this picture is that, this is the image of how in Africa families used to gather around buses in the days when pilgrimage was by foot or buses. It's almost an exact replica image!

Everyday I’m reminded that my ability to practice Islam in “ canada” or “ north america” is because of the Black Muslims who were forcibly brought here, who in every way paved the way for me to be able to call myself a Muslim. May Allah bless them always! https://t.co/l85OnTWuio

This is the true spirit of a pluralist Islam. These evocative chants proclaim the richness and diversity of Muslims who triumph over the monotone Muslim voices with parochial eyes that glossed over “We created you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another”

The brilliant video was originally filmed by Dr @KameelahRashad in 2019. Please credit and cite when referencing the video. (I had come across the video on an FB page that unfortunately didn’t mention the source, but sadly and wrongly stamped their name on it). https://t.co/Pq5RrRmtXv

PS: also, cite Black women – esp those whose life work focuses on documenting & honoring African American (Muslim) life in all its beauty and complexity
