Ramadan is a month of sharing, and many of us are blessed to have something to break our fast with after a long day. The hunger we feel when we fast helps us realize the countless blessings that God has given us. It also reminds us of the struggles that are faced by many in our community.
Vancouver Madinah will be sharing iftar with the residents of the Downtown Eastide (DTES) community on June 8th. This gathering will be a great opportunity for the homeless to experience Ramadan with Muslims in the community and learn about why is it that we fast.
We will be serving food inside the DTES Neighbourhood House and also distributing them to others at the nearby Oppenheimer Park. As such, we require volunteers to make this event successful. Let’s not miss this chance to put a smile on the face of those who need it most!
