Day 21 – Iftar – Maghrib – Masjidur Rahmah – Central Toronto Islamic Foundation (CTIF) – 328 Parliament Street, Regent Park

Being in Toronto’s Downtown Core with an hour to go til sunset, you have time enough to walk to numerous Public Iftars, Alhumdulillah.

Like Day 6 of 30 Masjids in 2012, Regent Park’s Masjidur Rahmah at 328 Parliament Street, north of Dundas, is where tonight’s fast was broken.

Also like 2012, I am still mis-naming this Masjid, as you can see on my twitter.

It is Masjidur Rahmah and not Masjidur Rahman….

The second floor fills up with The Fasting.

While waiting, one or two “Adhans” begin echoing. False alarms. These are “Phone Adhans”, whose source are Five Times Muslim Prayer Apps running on people’s smartphones.

Adhan Al-Maghrib, The Sunset Call to Prayer, remains a few minutes away.

There is a generous amount of time between Break Fast at Adhan Al-Maghrib and the Iqama, Standing in Line, for Salat Al-Maghrib, The Sunset Prayer.

Lack of sleep these past few days and nights compounds the caffeine deficit during daylight hours. Staying downtown, I may become too sleepy to make it home before Fajr.

Unlike 2012, Taraweeh will be in North York tonight. InshAllah.
