30 MORE – GTA Eid al Adha – Shaikh Abdullah Hakim Quick | Direct Energy Centre

Was looking forward to listening to Shaikh Abdullah Hakim Quick as I expected his Qhutbah to be excellent, and, Alhumdulillah, it was!

This Eid al Adha Sermon touched upon the Canadian Census Numbers counting the nation’s first Muslims in 1871 right down to the most recent numbers and where the Muslims will be in Canada by 2030. And what all that means.

Abdullah Hakim’s Eid Sermon wrapped up with a very workable 10 point manifesto on how to be Contributing Canadians as we venture forth to the year 2030, when we’re expected to make up a full 5% of the Canadian Population.

Abdullah Hakim Quick was born in the United States of America and accepted Islam in Canada in 1970. He pursued his study of Islam at the Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia where he graduated and received an Ijaza from the College of Da’wah and Islamic Sciences in 1979. He later completed a Masters Degree and a Doctorate in African History at the University of Toronto in Canada. His thesis was an analysis of the early life of Sheikh ‘Uthman Dan Fodio, a great West African Scholar, Mujaahid and social activist.

Shaykh Abdullah has served as Imam, teacher and counselor in the USA, Canada and the West Indies. For three years he contributed to the religious page of Canada’s leading newspaper. He has traveled to over 61 countries on lecture, research and educational tours.

Presently he is a Senior Lecturer at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, the Head of the History Department of Al Maghrib Institute and the Outreach Coordinator for the Canadian Council of Imams.
